Zhang Liyin attended her first promotional event for SM The Ballad’s new mini-album Breath today, a joint recital with all featuring artists. Although she was reportedly not feeling well during the performance, Korean media was full of compliments for the Chinese soloist.

On 12 February, Zhang Liyin graced us with a charming performance at SM The Ballad 2nd Album Breath Joint Recital held at Seoul Samsung Coex Atrium.
With the album release only a day away, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, SHINee’s Jonghyun, f(x)’s Krystal, EXO’s Chen, Super Junior-M’s Zhou Mi and Zhang Liyin honoured us with their presence at this event.

On 12 February, boy group EXO’s Chen and singer Zhang Liyin graced us with a charming performance at SM The Ballad 2nd Album Breath Joint Recital held at Seoul Samsung Coex Atrium.
Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, SHINee’s Jonghyun, f(x)’s Krystal, EXO’s Chen, Super Junior-M’s Zhou Mi and Zhang Liyin were all in attendance, and brought to us special stages as well as introducing the album, sharing with us episodes on the process of preparing this album and catching our attention with different stories they shared.

To celebrate the releasing of SM The Ballad 2nd Album Breath, a joint recital was held at Seoul Samsung Coex Atrium. This day, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, SHINee’s Jonghyun, f(x)’s Krystal, EXO’s Chen, Super Junior M’s Zhou Mi and Zhang Liyin attended and brought to us their first live performances as well as introducing the album, sharing with us anecdotes on the preparation process.

Zhang Liyin, “Among EXO, I like Chen the most”
During the Talk Time segment, when asked how she’s been, “I’m eating well, exercising and am working hard on my vocals. Thank you to all my fans who have been waiting for me. I’m recording well and making better music.” Zhang Liyin updated us.
When asked about the title song, “Breath”, “This is a song you sing when you part with your love, it’s a song that carries the delicate emotions of a woman. Chen sang really well for this song, especially his high notes are really charming and our voices work in perfect harmony. When I watched him film the music video, his eyes were so sad (emotional),” praising the perfect harmony with Chen. And, “Chen is a really kind person, always smiling and during filming, he would give me his support (saying ‘hwaiting’ to her). Among all the EXO members, I like Chen the most.”
Chen and Zhang Liyin sang in perfect harmony for their 1st stage together.

Zhang Liyin and EXO’s Chen disclosed their thankful hearts towards each other.
Chen disclosed: “Because I had to sing in Mandarin for this Chinese version, it was really difficult. Liyin noona carefully taught me well and took the lead.”
When asked who is her favourite member in EXO, “All of EXO’s members have their own charms, however, I like Chen who sang in perfect harmony with me, the most. Chen is always smiling, He always has a smile for staff members. Really a kind friend.” Zhang Liyin praised Chen who sang the duet with her.
MBN Star shared another tidbit from the on-stage talk segment:
EXO Chen “Chinese pronunciation, Zhang Liyin personally coached him… very thankful”
When asked if any interesting things happened during the making of this album, he said, “Instead of having something interesting to share, there is something that I’m thankful for.”
“I faced many difficulties because of the Mandarin articulation, during recording, Liyin noona personally came in to coach me, so I’m really thankful.” EXO’s Chen thanked Zhang Liyin.
