Introduction

Five months before Liyin’s third debut anniversary, the four biggest Zhang Li Yin fanclubs are (finally) officially announcing the start of the project! After some discussion, we will be working together to raise approximately $2000 together (between four fanclubs) to send a gold microphone to Liyin for September 9th, 2009.

The microphone will be bought from German company Sennheiser, through a division in California, United States, and will be sent sometime in early August when they will do crystallized customization for us. After the customization is finished, one of Chocolyn’s staff members will be picking it up directly from the Sennheiser dealer and it will be sent to China.

Fundraising

As one of the four fanclubs, Chocolyn will need raise over $600 to cover our fanclub’s part of the contribution. Although $2000 is the approximate cost for the project in total, we decided that it is best if we have a higher donation goal to aim at in order to make this fanclub collaboration happen. Not to mention, Chocolyn staff members have plans to hold our own separate side debut anniversary project, so we can give Liyin gifts from Chocolyn as an individual fanclub too. If we cannot raise enough for both to happen, we will make sure the raised funds will only be used for “Voice 4 Liyin” instead.

In order for both the gold microphone collaboration project (Voice 4 Liyin) and the separate Chocolyn side project to happen, we will need all your help. Every little bit counts.

Here is how the $2000 total will be spent:
- $1000 on a Sennheiser microphone
- $800 on a two-colour Sennheiser microphone customization
- $150 for shipping and handling (from California, USA to Beijing, China)

If you have any questions regarding snail-mail (concealed cash) donations, please PM Melissa for more details. Take note that all international and American snail-mail donations will be sent to Melissa, and all Canadian snail-mail donations will be sent to Wendy.

UPDATE (May 25th): We just talked to our ifensi correspondent, Mimi...
If we do not have $2000 altogether by June 20th, all four fanclubs will make a final decision on the project... To push it back or to cancel it completely.

I love this idea. I'm surely donating. And I really hope each and everyone will donate even if it's one dollar because I do believe every dollar counts. And I'm a little confused here. I understand $2,000 is the amount the 4 fanclubs (we) need to reach in total by 09.09.09 but as one of the four fanclubs how much do we need? Above $600, but how much exactly? Thanks!

yes, because all proceeds from the birthday brochure goes into chocolyn's budget, which would of course go into the anniversary project, and all other future projects. unfortunately the proceeds is quite minuscule (it comes out to about 50 cents), so it would be nice if people can make a more substantial contribution (otherwise it would take a lot more than 300+ members to raise $600 ^^;;)

if you don't really have money, but have things you'd like to sell, the marketplace is also another way to help out

cause wouldn't it hurt to hold the mic for a long period of time then? Like boa has a customized mic, but only the most bottom portion is decorated and the handle part is smooth. I dont know if that made any sense LOL

We're not completely sure of the exact amount yet, but we're going to see how much money we can raise for the first month (April) to see if our goal is even possible... We will release more details as the project goes on, but as for now, in order for both projects (Chocolyn's and V4L's) to happen, we will definitely need at least $600.

Yes. That's what we plan to do. :) And I don't think she'll be holding it for a long period of time, lol. Most songs are only around five minutes. She can always switch hands (which we've seen her done before). :)
